Locals, part-timers, and first-time visitors all know the Keys chill vibe is KEY… but wow — not the past few days! We literally had “Watch for frozen iguanas falling from trees” alerts. LITERALLY. They get so cold they can’t move and just… fall.
Yes, I know 58 degrees isn’t icy roads and snowstorms — but we are not built for this! I had to find socks. Two of them. Down here, winter clothes mean doubling up tank tops, throwing on a fishing shirt, and maybe wearing pants. Socks do not go with sandals 💁🏻♀️
One lady even showed up to a paint class in oven mitts (fish and lobster — super cute 😊). We’re surviving the cold… and still Painting the Keys, of course.

Paint Parties Make Memories!
We’ve been loving hosting paint parties at so many different venues lately. Seeing families and friends spending time together — and leaving with a one-of-a-kind souvenir — is our favorite part.
Every Tuesday, you can find us at the iconic Robbie’s of Islamorada for our laid-back Coconut Paint Party. Guests can choose a pre-sketched coconut (or go totally freeform) and paint however they want. Araña is there to help, encourage, and cheer you on! This one isn’t step-by-step — it’s relaxed, creative, and so much fun.
We’ve met people from all over the world, and honestly, hanging out at Robbie’s never gets old.
Pro Tip: Robbie’s is perfect for the whole family — shops, kayak and boat rentals, a small beach, bar, ice cream truck, restaurant, and of course feeding the tarpon. It’s busiest earlier in the day but thins out around 3-ish.
We advertise the paint party at 5pm, but we’re usually there by 3pm and flexible — especially if part of your group is fishing while the rest want something fun to do. Just text us!
PLUS — Randall hosts trivia at 6:30 with great prizes (those Robbie’s long-sleeve shirts 👀).Classes are Posted
Classes are officially posted! 🎉 Be sure to regularly check the website under FL Keys Classes, where you can see all available locations, designs, class times, and pricing. Classes are added throughout the month, so it’s important to check back often for updates. Right now, February and March classes are live—with many more to come!
What’s Your Favorite Color? 💗
My favorite color is THE KEYS — and this month, that color is pink. Shimmery watercolor pinks show up in our skies, flowers, and everything in between. And even if we don’t see flamingos every day, let’s be honest… the Keys scream flamingos.
That’s why we’re hosting a beginner watercolor Flamingo class this month at Dockside- featuring all those gorgeous pink tones! If you missed this class or any classes that you want us to redo just give us a call or text (561)707-4527 tell Randall what where when- we will try to make it happen!

I also used these pinks in my “Love CONCHERS All – Floating in the Keys” watercolor series. These originals will be heading to a local gallery soon, but if you’d like first dibs before they do, give us a call! There will be 12 different Keys-vibe watercolors, all framed and floating.

So… What’s Up?
We’re working on getting our calendar posted further in advance (promise!). Even when it looks quiet online, we’re often busy with private parties at RV resorts, hotels, private homes, and the studio — always Painting the Keys.
Huge shoutout to our weekly and monthly hosts:
Marlin Bay — have you seen this place?! Gorgeous.
Dockside Boot Key — a locals favorite with live music, boat-up access, and paint nights at 5:30 and trivia at 7.
Robbie’s — ICONIC. Coconut painting at 5 ish unless we get there earlier, trivia at 6:30
DoubleTree Hilton Key West — locals welcome… and yes, they have COOKIES 🍪, plus a bar right there and super fun people!
Batik Classes with Dottie — held at our Islamorada studio. It’s like tie-dye and watercolor had a baby. You HAVE to try it at least once.

One of our favorite traditions is hosting yearly family paint parties. This month, we painted with a family for the 5th year in a row during their annual Keys vacation. Being part of your “must-do” traditions truly means the world to us — thank you for letting us be part of your memories 💛
To those of you who can’t be here with us in the Keys right now—we miss you and love you! Keep painting and be ready to jump back in when you return. And if you’re craving a little Keys creativity in the meantime, don’t forget we offer ART2GO boxes that you can order online and enjoy from anywhere.
Locals — Question for You 👀
We don’t keep regular studio hours because we’re out and about so much, but would anyone be interested in bringing back COCONUT JAM?
You can bring something you’re already working on or choose from our pre-sketched canvases, coconuts, wine glasses, watercolor, and more. It’s a free-flow creative space — pricing depends on what you choose — and a chance to play with supplies you might be curious about (alcohol inks, pastels, glitter, watercolor pencils, and more).
Bring back Coconut Jam?
We’re also in the middle of a website overhaul and would LOVE your feedback on how we can make it easier to connect with us. All advice and encouragement welcome!
And don’t forget — we are social butterflies and everywhere. You can catch a peek at our other creative chaos at @Be the Show Events & Entertainment on Facebook and Instagram.
Dance parties, game shows, jugglers, face painting, airbrush tattoos, pirating, chaos-making, AV magic, and professional confidence building — we bring the FUN 😂
One More Thing… 🥥
We are still hiding painted coconuts! Follow along at @finderskeeperscoconuts on Instagram and Facebook. Sometimes we even open it up for those not in the Keys — and we’ll mail you one!

If that sounds fun, let us know—call, text, email, yell, send a coconut 💁🏻♀️—we want to hear from you.
